Description
This pendant follows the Egyptian cartouche form, with a rounded name panel and tied bar at its base. The cartouche was used around royal names and developed from the shen ring, a symbol associated with protection.
The inscription uses paired reed leaves, an owl, horned viper, folded cloth, single reed and water line. There is an Egyptian assay hallmark on the back.
